A "tulpa" is easy enough to understand. A conscious or unconscious desire given physical form through the power of one's mental prowess. As the saying goes, we create our own worst enemies. Thus Evanescence (yes, that's her full name) was born from Grey's desire to have a girlfriend, a lover, a mate whom he could cherish and protect and love. She's intelligent and clever and witty, while at the same time is beautiful and cheery in appearance, combining his favorite traits of his two greatest loves, Kila and Ewa Lani.

A girl who loves pastels, unicorns and glittering jewelry, even I'M not sure which way she "swings", because I have a sinking feeling she's as pansexual as 627 is! Plus her powers are rather...strange and frightening. One of her most common abilities is being able to become human, and to "appear the way you (the one looking at her) expects me to appear".

Her existence is sad, because she really isn't a "person". She has no soul. No heart. She's only mimicking human traits, because in reality she's made of pure Dream element, absolute potential given form. Because of this, you can't really "kill" her, she keeps coming back to life, just like Nick can.

Interestingly, she's very fond of Grey's children, possibly because she wishes she was their mother, and has a deep respect for Ember and Esmeralda, admiring their strong resolve and passionate spirit. She has a tattoo of a butterfly resting on a mirror on her arm, which symbolizes reflection, beauty and also rebirth.
