Mike Schmidt always struck me as a younger type, possibly a teenager, since it's the early 90's when the game takes place and paying a TEEN minimum wage makes more sense than a grown adult. Hmm...this interpretation of him makes sense, true, but what you said before holds true too - the whole "Main Protagonists Don't Actually Have that much sway over the story" thing. Kinda feels like they're the weakest links, huh?
